I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Lisa Williams! She is the bubbly, energetic, and totally awesome Psychic Medium that some of you may know from the show, Life Among the Dead! I remember watching Lisa in action and being completely moved by her messages, and most importantly, her approach to working with Spirit!
I hope you find this interview as insightful as I have! Let’s give a big thank you to Lisa for giving us a bit of her time!
Shaheen: There seems to be a lot of crazy, intense, and amazing energy in the atmosphere right now. People are “waking up” and asking questions about spirituality, etc. Can you talk about the spiritual awakening/revolution that is happening in the World?
Lisa: I think what has happened over the last 20 years or so, is that we have become more open to the world of spirituality and we are no longer associating it with religion. Religion and spirituality can and often do go hand in hand but not all the time, it certainly depends on the person.
The media in general have opened up to the connection with have with energy, spirits and healing. There have been some incredible results and circumstances that, while we cannot show how it happens there is no denying that it’s happened.
With the support of media in every context, it’s given everyone ‘permission’ to own their spirituality and purpose, and we are no longer afraid to speak about what we believe in which has increased the awareness or awakening in the world.
Shaheen: With this shift it seems like people are in a different headspace. What kind of questions are people asking during their readings now, vs. 5 or 10 years ago?
Lisa: Ironically it’s still the same. When am I getting married, will I meet true love, are my loved ones ok? However I have noticed the increase of questions about their life purpose. I find that more and more people want to know about their spiritual gifts and how to develop them. I love getting these questions because it just shows the ripple effect, that one person can change and then they influence someone else and in continues. It’s quite amazing when you sit back and watch it.
Shaheen: It seems like children are more and more aware than ever. What do you have to say about psychic kids? Any advice?
Lisa: Yes I believe that they are. I do believe that more and more children are being born into the world where they are gifted healers and communicators with the other side. However it also goes back to people being a little more open. I know when I was a child I was told to shut up about it and not to say a thing, and now parents and their friends openly have discussions about this in their home so it’s now a ‘safe space’ to kids to be open about it. Of course we are always going to encounter the skeptics and that’s ok, it keeps everything interesting.
When kids open up to their parents about what they are hearing, seeing and feeling, it’s important for the parents to remain open and not to have a moment of panic. The slightest hesitation in a parent’s voice, or slightest negative body movement, a child will pick up on it, and it was cause the child to either panic or shut down, so if we can remain open that is the most important thing and to give the kids a place to talk about what is happening. The other vital thing is to let the kids know that this is ‘normal’ for them to have these things happen and other people have it too.
Shaheen: Do you have any advice for people who are having extreme psychic experiences, or who just want to develop their intuitive abilities?
Lisa: First… ENJOY. It’s very normal for this to happen especially as we are now more and more open to spirituality. I would suggest the first thing to trust what you get and not to question it. When we start to question the information that we get, we use our head and logic and this isn’t going to help us when it comes to working with our intuition. Believe in yourself and know that you have the ability, and then meditate. Meditation will help you focus the mind and allow the random ‘thoughts’ of intuitive guidance come in. That is the best thing when these moments happen you just have to trust! Even I have a few moments where I question or need validation, so it’s only natural to doubt especially when it’s something that you really want to know about.
Shaheen: Any last thoughts, messages, or ideas you want to share?
Lisa: I think it’s important that we trust our intuition and remain authentic. This is going to allow you to stand in your power and believe in your gift.
Shaheen: Ooh… and before we go… are there any projects you are working on that we should keep an eye out for?
Lisa: I have just released my new Intuitive Soul Oracle Cards, which I am very excited about and I am looking at running new courses. I’m going to be launching a new website, radio show and other fun stuff so keep an eye out in April 2015!
